S2CENE promotes a European Awareness Action in Barcelona, Spain!

Between the 26th and 27th of October of 2023, the Association Européenne des Villes des Ecoles de la Deuxieme Chance (E2C), partner of the Strengthening Second Chance Networks in Europe (S2CENE) project, promoted and held the E2C Europe Annual Events of 2023 on Second Chance Education in Barcelona, Spain.

The events began at 10 am WET of the 26th of October, with the official opening moment and welcoming to all participants.

The welcoming moment was followed by a Teachers’ meeting concerning skills and expected profiles for the Second Change Schools professionals which took the main part of the first day of the event. The meeting provided important insights on the main opportunities and challenges on Second Chance Education field, allowing teachers to share their professional experiences.

Also planned for the first day of the E2C Europe 2023 was a visit of the E2O Salesians Sant Jordi, a network built by the social organisation of Salesians, in Spain, which promote the inclusion of children, adolescents, young people and families at risk and other vulnerable groups through intervention work and synergies for social change. The visit of the E2O Salesians Sant Jordi happened between 3pm and 5pm.

The day finished with a S2CENE European Awareness Action, aimed at raising awareness and validating S2CENE project outputs, such as the Second Chance Schools accreditation model, the Profile of the “SCS professionals”, the Capacity Building Plan for the SCS Professionals as well as a Toolkit for the Capacity Building Programme, at an European level, through the active involvement of organisations and professionals with extense experience in the field of secondary chance education and/or adult education fields.

On the second day of E2C Europe Annual Events, the Associação para a Educação de Segunda Oportunidade (AE20), one of the Strengthening Second Chance Networks in Europe (S2CENE) project partner, had the opportunity to share its experience and knowledge in the field of Second Chance Education in Cooperation as a generator of opportunities, a round table of the event Experiences of Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation in Favour of Young People in Second Chance Schools
